Each and every day, security officers work to protect people, property, and public spaces. On 24 July, we mark International Security Officers’ Day—a global initiative that recognises the efforts of these professionals who operate 24/7 to keep our communities safe.

The date itself—24/7—symbolises the round-the-clock nature of security work. From shopping centres and hospitals to licensed venues and critical infrastructure, security officers are often the first responders in emergencies, demonstrating professionalism, courage, and calm under pressure.

SPAAL proudly joins the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL) and industry partners worldwide in saying thank you to the thousands of licensed officers across Australia. Whether it’s a smile, a handshake, or a simple “thanks,” your appreciation makes a difference.

Let’s take a moment on 24 July to acknowledge those who protect us—often without recognition—and celebrate their contribution to a safer society.
