The Federal Government is proposing to introduce a single national framework for labour hire regulation, which could be implemented in place of existing state and territory schemes in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.
State Industrial Relations Ministers and the Federal Government, have established a working group of State and Federal government officers tasked with setting up a National Labour Hire Model by late October 2023, for presentation to Parliament in early 2024 which will to include a process for mutual recognition of labour hire licences across jurisdictions.
