As a result of the private security industry review in 2021, and subsequent passing of the Private Security and County Court Amendment Act 2024, all private security registration holders are required to transition to private security licences from June 2025.
Current private security registration holders
Current Private Security registration holders who are due to renew their registration up to 18 June 2025, will renew their registration for 12 months, rather than the standard 3-year registration.
New private security registration applicants
New private security registration applicants will receive a 12-month private security registration.
The 12-month registration process will allow industry to prepare for the transition of all registration holders to private security licences.
